Jolene lives in Nanoose Bay, just outside of Parksville and just north of Nanaimo, BC on Vancouver Island. She has been an artist and painter her entire life but has recently pursued it professionally in 2012. She attended the Business Management Program at the University of Calgary and worked part-time for the Bank of Montreal before she discovered that she really should be working in a more creative field. After Graduating with a Degree in Design from the Alberta College of Art in Calgary in 2002, she worked as Production Manager and Art Director for a range of different businesses such as Magazines, Newspapers, Marketing companies and Web Development agencies. After collecting a wide range of experience she created her own Design and Marketing Company which has been successfully running for over 10 years. With her years of Design and Business skills, the opportunity to create a new Vancouver Island wide magazine arrived in 2009. As founder, the magazine became another outlet for her creativity which continues today after 5 years and has developed into the parent company of Island Times Media Corporation www.islandtimesmagazine.ca. She also is a Part Owner of Sutton Whitecap Realty in Parksville www.parksville-realestate.ca and works as a Real Estate Agent and you can find her work on display at the office at 135 Alberni Highway, Parksville, BC.
In 2012 she was inspired by a few Artist friends to make the time to paint again. Since then she has been creating works inspired by the stunning Vancouver Island landscapes. Growing up with horses her entire life and a family full of horse-obsessed people inspires her Equine artwork and her own love of horses and the horse world.
I am currently looking for locations to display and sell my prints and original paintings. I am happy to pay commission for any sales (negotiable). Please contact me if you are interested!
